Our home

A place we fell in love with.

We both fell in love with Sweden because of its wildness, its nature, its food, its design and the gentleness of its people. So we did what we had always told each other we might do one day: we found our own house there.

Nature reconnects.

Elske Doets and Cuno van 't Hoff welcome you to their own guesthouse in Mid Sweden, between wild forest and a pristine lake, in a village with more cows than inhabitants. Three and a half hours by car north of Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

We now open it to a small number of guests, and we would love to show you how.

The house

Our window opens your life.

A spacious, light-filled guesthouse furnished in Scandinavian design. The eight-metre-high living-room window opens completely by a wheel, and pulls you straight into nature.

Out back lies lush, wild forest, with chances of meeting moose, deer and, now and then, a bear. Depending on the season you find berries and mushrooms, or simply breathe the fresh air. Out front, a fifteen-minute walk takes you to the deep-blue Öresjön lake for a swim, a canoe trip or some meditation on the water.

You are not alone here: young farmer Alfred is your neighbour. Supermarket, bakery and fuel station are seven minutes away by car.

Dalarna is home to the iconic wooden Dala horse, and a source of design inspiration for Ikea and many others.

The days

Slow days, wild surroundings.

Scandinavian breakfasts and fika with something freshly baked. Walks down to the lake, the forest on your doorstep, adventures further afield, and locally sourced gourmet dinners, sometimes in the middle of a field. Everything is there if you want it, and nothing is if you don't.

Our home. Your extraordinary escape.

We receive you personally in our home, as your hosts and Guest Experience Makers, GEMs for short. We take you on a welcome hike, show you our favourite places and arrange every extra you wish for.

Housekeeping and turndown take care of the rest. You only have to arrive.
